if Simmons is a non-factor for opposing defenses, it means that Tobias and Seth won't be nearly as efficient because they'll be operating with less space.
over his last 10 games Simmons is averaging only 29.6 minutes per game, averaging 10.4ppg, 5.4 apg, 6.6rpg. some star player
Yeah he has looked a bit off recently since coming back from injury, we've all seen that. The hope is that he returns to form by playoff time, which is reasonable. The Sixers also still have a winning record during that stretch, most of it without Embiid...so there's that.
Simmons was an All-Star, All-NBA 3rd team, and All-Defense 1st team last season averaging 16.4 ppg. There's a lot more to the game than raw ppg and the broadcasters and sports writers that follow the sport the closest understand Simmons impact is massive despite less than impressive scoring averages. He was an All-Star once again this season too, attempting just 10 fg per game lol. He might not score a ton like Embiid, but he's efficient and doesn't hurt his team by taking stupid shots. He's a VERY unselfish player, sometimes to a fault.
