Once LaMarcus Aldridge completes a buyout with the Spurs, the Miami Heat are expected to emerge as a frontrunner to sign him, sources tell ESPN. Aldridge plans to talk with several teams before finalizing a decision.

They ended up with a boat load of unprotected first-round picks though. The most appealing are the Nets' first-round pick in 2024 and 2026. They'll also have three first-round picks in 2021. As well as the Nets' unprotected first in 2022 (likely a late first) and the Bucks unprotected first in 2023 (likely a late first).

I know it's not much right now but we'll see how it plays out. What if we land an all-star player with the Nets' unprotected first in 2024 and 2026? What will help us the most right now is if we win the 2021 NBA Lottery and have the #1 pick in the 2021 draft. A 14% chance. Cade Cunningham would be a no brainer. But if we end up with our top four protected pick that will help.

We'll also have three first-round picks in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. Portland's, Milwaukee's and our own.

When you're in a rebuild like the Rockets are right now it requires patience. I understand the situation, It's not pretty but it's not terrible.
