There is legitimate racism happening in our world that needs to be addressed and denounced.

There are ways of addressing and denouncing that racism that lead to meaningful conversations and a reasonably high chance of lasting change, at least on a personal level.

Then there is what showtim3 is doing in this thread, which is unproductive, often laden with half-baked accusations and ideas which cause white people (who, because of their privilege don’t really need to allow themselves to be confronted with what’s happening to people of color in our country) to want nothing to do with the conversation. This approach furthers division and causes white people to feel more justified in their belief set and less sympathetic to the cause of fighting racism.
