Bruh, you guys drafted and traded fultz, noel, okafor for practically nothing and also in the "process" ruined their career.

You guys also didnt draft mpj? Like seriously. All that talk about drafting talent and "injury value" and they pass on mpj lmaooo.

Boston, raptors, heat, bucks didnt have to tank for 20 years to be contenders rofl.

The Fultz trade was Colangelo, long after Hinkie was gone.

Not drafting MPJ was also not Hinkie, that was wayyy after as well.

Lol you're reaching hard.

This.

The process gave the Sixers everything they needed to be a contender. Multiple All-Star franchise players (something they lacked before), flush with draft picks and a destination that players would want to play for.

All in all it worked, and did exactly what Hinkie set out to do. There's a reason the NBA forced him out AND changed the draft lottery format because of the Sixers. Its because Hinkie took the opportunity to tank and did it better and smarter than teams have done before, they were open about it. If the NBA did not step in and make changes other teams were going to follow suit (as they were already doing). It's bad for the league because its bad for revenue.

So when people say "the process" failed they couldn't be any more wrong lol. That changed over when Hinkie was forced out before he could finish his 4 year plan, and management since then has failed to fully utilize the pieces they gained during Hinkie's time as GM. Despite this the Sixers still have one of the more talented rosters around the league, its just a strange fit and now its a matter of finding a coach that can make it work.

How do you do it

God damn Hinkie boosted his value, made him look good, then flipped him in trade rape for a really valuable pick....

Then he proceeded to be shit

Hinkie should never have been pushed out of office

He wrecked the league so bad they forced him out of office AND changed the draft lottery format because of him 🤣

Its to show your organization's gm both colangelo and hinkie was garbage

You casually ignored/ didnt defend the okafor and noel draft.

Hinkie's work speaks for itself

Went from a 10 win team to back to back 50+ win seasons all within a few years after "the process" originally started. And the Sixers actually had All-Stars and players to build around WITH a ton of assets too. Unfortunately not the best moves were made after Hinkie and many assets were squandered.

Okafor was a bad pick, but he wasn't a Hinkie player. Hinkie wanted Porzingis but was forced by ownership to take Okafor as he was the consensus safe pick anyway around the league or so people thought.

Noel was a beast his rookie year, and even after but once Embiid came along he was of no use anymore.

Either way, nobody strikes gold on ALL of their draft picks. You win some and you lose some. Sixers got Simmons and Embiid above all else out of the whole thing, and had it not been for Hinkie they probably would have passed on Embiid after he broke his foot. Hinkie was willing to be patient and wait for the recovery. Thank God he did break that foot otherwise we would have taken Wiggins #3 rofl. Those two alone made it well worth the tanking.

Those tanking years will always be worth it of course. It worked so well the league literally changed their draft lottery format because of the Sixers and other teams were following 🤣
