But NBA is so predictable with no parity. We all know it's going to be GSW and Cavs in the Finals.

this year, sure. 5 years ago GSW was a joke.

NBA these days is more about FA than drafts. Look at houston, not a legit threat or anything, but they were a treadmill borderline playoff team then brought in harden and outside of last year with dwight being a sack of shit have made the WCF and a splash in the post season

i don't think harden will carry them to the chompionship ever just because he gets lazy sometimes, but it's exciting to watch nonetheless

Depends on the team. It's combination of FA signing, drafts, and trades. Sixers has never been able to get a decent FA. We also have never been able to pull off a good trade because we had some shit GM and front office in the past. So we really have to rely on drafts and acquiring assets. That's how Houston landed Harden because they acquired good assets for trade.

I mean it's definitely more fun watching your team compete in the playoffs but we literally have advanced to the second round just once in the last 10+ years.

Also it's much worse when you are in the East. You know it's going to be Lebron going to the Finals. My man has been to the finals six straight times.

not sure how you can insult a team that at least brings the chance to the table every year

your garbage organization has literally been "rebuilding" for what, 8 years now?

5 years ago the Sixers took the Celtics to game 7 in the second round (when they had Pierce, KG, Ray Allen, Rondo, etc) where they were 1 win away from playing against the Heat (with Bron Bron ofc) in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Not long after, Hinkie blew that team up and started from scratch despite having a solid (yet treadmill) team. Why? Because Hinkie knew that they weren't going to win it all with that core, and that the NBA is superstar driven and that you need to compile multiple game changing multi-faceted SUPERSTARS in order to take that next level. You can't get there through the draft (the correct way to build) without being bad first, because being a treadmill team gives you borderline lottery picks if you're lucky.

i'm not even trying to make it personal here, i'm genuinely confused how a sixers fan can laud the raptors here

every year the raptors fans get to watch the playoffs, get excited, and hope for the best

sixers fans literally sit around saying "trust the process, trust the process, trust the process" and i'm not even trying to be mean, your future doesn't look that bright

lmao...

but then get personally offended when people point out their team's faults rofl

i'd hate being a sixers fan right now, would take being a raps fan 10 times out of 10 over that shit today

10-15 years from now, who knows.

i don't see embiid ever being a star, he will continue having injuries. simmons could be huge, but is still an unknown, rest of the team blows lol

dario aight too

Embiid & Simmons have superstar potential, that's already well known no need to even talk about that.

Dario Saric took a month or two to adjust to the NBA as a rookie, but he has turned out to be everything he was hyped to be as a lottery pick in the 2014 draft. And as a result, he will be winning ROY. This kid is the real deal, and that's well known now also.

Robert Covington is top 20 in the NBA in Real Plus-Minus, top 5 in defensive plus-minus, and the #1 defensive SF in the NBA in DPM. This guy has casually risen from the D-League (a find by Hinkie) to being a premier elite 3&D type of player.

Richaun Holmes balled the fuck out after Noe was traded (not really surprising since we all saw how well this kid played early on), and actually outperformed Noel.

Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (another rookie 1st round pick last year) was just casually dropping 18+ Points Per Game the final month of the season.

But wait....possibly TWO top 5 picks in this upcoming 2017 draft to add on top of that.

I mean even with Okafor being a disappointment last season (Holmes has outshined him by miles), the Sixers are in a GREAT position. Tons of upcoming draft picks, tons of financial flexibility, and ownership that is willing to spend when the time is right. Getting Embiid & Simmons on the floor together will make the Sixers an entirely different team, you can bet that.

Why would I be mad about the second best player to ever play basketball being better than the Raptors?

I still think the Raptors have a shot

Makes a raptors bashing thread

Roots for the sixers

I mean the irony is just palpable. At least the turds can make it to the postseason. Sixers wont reach that territory for another decade.
