Philly toughest place to play with toughest fans and media, but it's their fault he's soft? Make it make sense.

yet Sixers catered to everything Simmons wanted and ended up turning him into what he is.

Philly coddled Simmons for a long ass time before any of this blew up. Not getting on him for developing his game at all since his rookie season. Getting rid of a true leader who made guys accountable (Butler) because he rubbed Simmons the wrong way, then find that he led a team with less talent to the Finals

For fun I wonder how many posts I can dig up of you saying Simmons doesn’t need to shoot

I'm tempted to pay you 1fg per post but fear that I might not have enough at the end.

Simmons doesn't need to shoot to be successful...he literally made 3X All-Star games,1x All-NBA team, and 2x All-Defense 1st teams in his first 4 seasons without shooting at all. He has already proven he can be a very good player without shooting jumpers lol...

The issue is he's not the same player anymore. His weakness mentally has turned him into a major bitch. If he was still aggressive attacking the rim and playing confidently like we saw him at times in Philly he'd be a nice piece for the Nets. But he's just a big soft bitch now who doesn't look anywhere near as good as he did in his 76ers days before the meltdown.

He will always be limited because he can't shoot.

I used to defend Gobert the same way. Now I have moved on.

Being successful is one thing but striving to be the best that you can be is another. Giannis is a deadlier player by expanding his game to include that mid range shot and making teams think twice about leaving him open for 3. He’d still be a monster even without it (2018-2019 is proof) or working on improving his free throw rate. The problem with Simmons is partially his own, at the end of the day nobody can make him work on his shot or free throws (or whatever mental blocks there are) Philly still has to take some portion of the blame on how he developed, it was clear that he didn’t take developing his shot or free throws seriously for even one off-season because he was already being held up as a top 10 player super prematurely. He let all that talk about him being similar to LeBron get to his head

Limited doesn't mean he's still not good though. There's a difference. Simmons would never become that superstar he had the potential to be unless he started shooting jumpers and spacing the floor, but he could still be an All-Star and even All-NBA without it as he proved.

Being an All-Star, All-NBA, and All-Defense 1st team selection in the same season without shooting jumpers at all is pretty impressive. It just goes to show how gifted he actually was, now just imagine if he had actually wanted to get better and expand his game.

Anyways, I hate Simmons so idc. I'm happy to see him failing after the shit he pulled to get out of Philly because he couldn't handle pressure at all. He's an NBA player physically, but he's certainly not one mentally.
