The Rockets may have messed up not letting the 76ers counter offer their Ben Simmons for James Harden trade package. All because Tillman Fertitta didn't want to see Daryl Morey acquire James Harden. It's dumb when an owner steps in like that. Simmons was the best player we could've received for Harden, and we went with the draft picks instead.

Maybe the Nets' offer will prove to be good in the long run. but we won't know until we claim their unprotected 2024 and 2026 first-round picks. Always a chance that both picks are a top three pick. Perhaps two #1 overall picks (unlikely), but the Nets should be a very bad team by 2026 for sure. Maybe they'll be awful by 2024. Harden can bolt after next summer. Durant and Kyrie both become unrestricted free agents after 2022-2023. So unless the Brooklyn Nets win the NBA Finals this year or next year, the Houston Rockets may have won the James Harden trade!

I always like the sex appeal of the short-term fix. Ben Simmons would've been that. Sure, if we end up with the #1 overall pick this year and draft Cade Cunningham it will be alright. I won't complain. LOL, but a 14% chance is just a 14% chance. We'll see I guess.

Would have been wild 😲😔

Of course. I was going to bet on the 76ers straight up. That would so happen to me!
The Suns and Jazz are scary good. And the Jazz still don't have Donovan Mitchell back.

I thought Utah would overlook some bad teams on their schedule without their second best player. Not really.

Even if the Lakers were 100% healthy, I don't think they'd repeat! Clippers and Nuggets are loaded also.

Portland has taken a lot of loses this past month but all against power house teams, Portland is battle tested and they may sneak the Clippers if they meet in the first round.

No worries. The Houston Rockets will lift off again one day. I may be 45 or 50 years old the next time they win the NBA Title.
I was in junior high the last time they won the NBA Finals. We have it worse than the Knicks and Timberwolves. I think so!

At this point I have no clue who will play in the 2021 NBA Finals. First time in years it truly is wide open. Especially in the West.

You had superstar Kevin Garnett and reached the 2004 Western Conference Finals with a big three of KG, Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell. I thought you'd win the 2004 NBA Finals back then but you came up short in six games to the dynasty Lakers. The Shaq and Kobe Lakers were on another level. The one with Karl Malone and Gary Payton felt unfair at the time. It took a very deep Spurs and Pistons team to knock them off in back-to-back years. They could've done more than three-peat if not for the lethal defense the Spurs and Pistons played (five-peated for sure), IMO.

I guess the Houston Rockets came up short in 2018. Took the Warriors to 7 games with CP3 missing the last two games.
Sadly, it's not enough to talk about "coming close" in the Western Conference Finals. But that's all we have lately. LOL

If Cassell hadn’t got injured we would have won that series.

My point is that was our ONLY truly successful season. We have never been outside of the first round outside of that year and since that year we have only made the playoffs ONCE in 17 years (that disaster of a season with jimmy crybaby buckets)

No team is even close to our level of failure as a franchise

Were there any NBA locks tonight? I just didn't trust any of the teams.
I ended up sending 200 FG up front on a baseball bet. I do feel lucky!
