I'm sitting here with a 160 magmar and my nearest 2 gyms have a 500+ flareon and arcanine. Are there any cons to losing a gym battle?

Yeah your Pokémon die and you need to revive then and give them potions to get them back to full strength. I think you also get experience though even if you lose?

evolved a rattata and now he's become my strongest pokemon at 248 cp lol

got a 186 bulbasar but those are really hard to find and to get them for candy will be hard.

This game seriously seems like the type that's going to destroy lives, even moreso than d2, wow, halo, cod etc.

I think it's in my best interests to avoid lol

This game is a crime solving app too? I heard a teen in Wyoming discovered a dead body while playing it.
