And now Maxey is another elite talent next to Embiid so there should be no more excuses yea?

Maxey just turned 21/22 years old? You're kind of reaching. Maxey is great, and really took another step last season (just his 3rd season), but he hasn't reached that point yet. Maybe next season? Maybe the season after? Still likely several years away from sniffing his prime though.

The hope is that Maxey continues to improve the way that he has every season. If that happens, then yes they'll have a legit shot once again. He's not on the same timeline as Embid because of how young he is, but next season should be a big one for him especially under Nick Nurse.

Lol there will always be a new excuse for Embiid as I said. Simmons, Harden, Doc, Tobias, it's everyone else but the 2 time scoring Champ / MVP

Nobody is saying Embiid isn't to blame though. He came up small in the playoffs against Boston in that game 7. Showed piss poor body language and didn't look like he wanted it.

With that said, he has never had a guard play at the level of say a Jamal Murray. That man averaged 27/7/6 in the playoffs. That's superstar type of play. You give Embiid that and he would have advanced, without question lol

  • James Harden scored 17 or fewer points in 7 of his 11 playoff games this year.
  • Jamal Murray scored 17 or fewer points just 3 of his 20 playoff games this year.

Let that sink in.

Word on the street: Houston Rockets are about to give Fred VanVleet two years, $85 million.

I love the signing if true! They had to overpay a great veteran player and they have the cap space to help a rapid playoff push next season. Like Jeff Van Gundy mentioned on the local radio show - Fred VanVleet is a perfect fit for the Houston Rockets. Champion, all-star, leader, 29 years old too.

Also the Rockets plan to give Dillon Brooks a massive offer as well. Two-year deal also.
So VanVleet and Brooks. I can live with that. It's not James Harden but it'll do for now.

The Rockets weren't willing to offer James Harden the money he was demanding from them. Four years, $200 million. But with Fred VanVleet they should be able to accelerate this rebuild and possibly make the Play-In Tournament next year. (7-10 seed).

Plenty of great young talent. A good head coach and now they're adding some good free agents. On the right path!

It's funny because the Houston Rockets have the Denver Nuggets exact blueprint. Baby Jokic in Alperen Sengun.
And now they're adding a lot of talent. I don't know how it's all going to come together but it'll be fun to watch!

Don't forget Embiid came up small against the leagues most fraudulent "Star" in Trae Young. He 100% deserves blame for that melt down because he settled into a jump shooter

Wait....Embiid came up small? He averaged 31/13/4 on good efficiency and was a monster that series while getting triple teamed lol

We can't really sit here and blame Embiid that series when Ben Simmons was just out there running around refusing to even look at the rim, passing up wide open layups, and shooting 33% from the FT line 🤣

Embiid also came up big in game 7 of that series. He showed up, dropped 30+ and defended well, while Simmons literally was nowhere to be found. Nobody that watched that series could ever blame Embiid lol. Fingers point to the guy who quit on his team and decided he didn't really want to play in the NBA anymore.
