We're talking playing time, NOTHING accounts for even close to real game experience in the NBA....now you're stretching and saying the year before when players are rehabbing from major injuries count as NBA game time experience? Man, stop it.

I love the expectations that Simmons and Embiid have on them, unlike any other young stars the NBA has. Back-to-back 50+ win seasons and back-to-back second round playoff appearances in their first two seasons playing together? Not good enough, total busts apparently. Must make finals or they're chokers lmfao

Two playoff trips together...that's it. Two. That's the total that Embiid and Simmons have played together in the playoffs, both in Simmons rookie and sophmore season when he was 21 and 22 years old.

Do you know what Jordan did in his first 3 years in the league? He got swept out of the first round in 2 of the 3 playoff trips and posted a combined 1-9 playoff record in those three years. And guess what? He was older too.

How about LeBron? He didn't even make the playoffs his first 2 years.

Maybe Giannis? Read my previous post, it took him until season 6 in the NBA before he had as many playoff wins as Simmons has in his first 2 seasons.

I can go on, and on, and on.

Simmons and Embiid have more than met their expectations and they're well ahead of where the majority of players of their caliber should be. They're doing just fine bud and they're not even in their NBA prime years yet (Embiid has entered that point at 27 now - Simmons still 2-3 years away)

Difference is that Jordan, LeBron, and Giannis didn’t have a top 10 player in his prime on their team (Butler) when getting 7 of those wins. 4 of those wins were against a mediocre team

Oh man, you're reaching at straws now lol. Discrediting opponents, hyping up teammates, jesus christ. What's next? Brett Brown was a great coach right? HOF'er?

My point 1000% stands firm and you guys have done nothing but help me make my case. Embiid and Simmons success to this point has been very good, and far more than the average player in their first few years in the NBA. Period.

hyping teammates? are you denying that Butler was/is a top 10 player at his prime?

I watched the Toronto Phillie series closely. Every time Toronto needed a tough bucket it was Kawhi and for Phillie it was Butler

Butler was a 3rd option at best on the Sixers outside of a few playoff games. He was an afterthought in the offense most of the season. Had some clutch shots sure, but overall he really wasn't a go-to guy obviously.

He came up big in the playoffs when Kawhi was shadowing Simmons the entire series lol.

he wasn't an All-Star that season because he forced his way out of Minnesota (with 17 games missed being before the All-Star selection)

it's the same reason Harden won't be on the MVP voting even though he is worthy. games played and forcing your way out of a team can disqualify you from accolades like MVP/All-Star

haven't the Bulls and Wolves been dogshit every single season Butler wasn't on the team in recent history? suddenly Miami goes to the Finals when they were scrapping for an 8th seed in Wade's twilight?

In 2019 Jimmy Butler became the 5th player in 76ers history to average at least 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a playoff run of at least 10 games.

I mean we can all agree Butler was a huge part in that run, and for moments he definitely got hot and took over.

But he was never going to be "the guy" and he knew it. Not with Embiid and Simmons there. That's why he wanted to go to Miami where he could do what he wants.

None of this negates my original point. Embiid and Simmons have been very successful so far. We'll see how they do now in their third playoff run together.
