the only halfway decent team the 76ers have beaten since Embiid and Simmons being drafted is that Miami team where Wade is completely incapable of playing defense and Bam isn't even a starter yet, you can't evade that fact

they choked hard against the Celtics because not only did they get swept but they got blown out in pretty much every game, and its not like the Celtics were some grizzled veteran team their 2 main stars are younger than Phillies 2 main stars even... and it's pretty clear the Celtics aren't that good given their performance this year

what do you think is going to happen this year when teams just switch onto Curry? are they going to intentionally run into Simmons? you aren't that naive, teams always exploit the weakest defender by switching onto them as often as possible

In what fucking world did they "choke"???? Brah.... that 76ers team last season was a straight mess and NOBODY had expectations going into the playoffs knowing Brett Brown was getting fired and the team was getting blown up anyway. They were without Simmons, they still had garbage Horford, almost no shooting around Embiid, and like I said Brett Brown who the team didn't even respect anymore. Losing that series as a #6 seed to a #3 isn't choking, that was pretty much expected when the news of Simmons being out broke. Embiid did his best averaging 30/12 in the series with all of the attention and double/triple teams on him, but that didn't matter. Maybe win 1 game? Maybe 2 if we got lucky? Plus it was a wild year with covid-19 and the bubble and it just wasn't a normal playoff run as we saw with an overachieving team in Miami actually making it to the Finals because they played in the bubble the whole time.

You're trying to discredit the success that Embiid and Simmons have had, which is as I said more than almost any other star player in their first two years. You act like these guys are 5+ years together and continue to fail. They've literally made bigger playoff pushes in their first two years than some all-star veteran NBA players have made in most of their career. Going back to my point, that's great success in the playoffs for players of that experience at that stage of their career.

If teams try to exploit Curry then we replace him with George Hill and Curry plays less minutes, problem solved. Curry is literally the only defender that teams can "pick on" like that and he's still better defensively than JJ Redick was LOL.

Anyways, this convo should be over. It started with the dick breath Knicks fan saying "Regular season means jack shit and as a philly fan you should know this already" and me asking how that is the case, considering the Sixers have been successful in the Embiid/Simmons era in the playoffs relative to their age/experience so far (and have never lost to a lower seed).

Lets talk about how Zion is averaging the most points per 36 minutes in NBA history. :o

You have never been to a conference finals game in the easiest conference with two superstars.

Your record in the last three years in they playoffs are 12-14.

You will literally cling to anything to try and sell yourself that the 76ers are this power house. You don't do shit in the post season and run your mouth like this team is some absolute juggernaut when nobody gives a fuck about the regular season

Super disappointing

Nuggets honestly looked like such a complete team. This changes their entire dynamic and doesn’t make them nearly as dangerous come playoffs imo

So Simmons and Embiid were superstars in their first 2 or 3 seasons in the NBA? Oh fucking really....

Make it make sense please. Guys are expected to get into the finals when they're a rookie or sophmore in the NBA? And last year in the playoffs Simmons was out injured, so....

As I said for the 100th time, they exceeded expectations for players at their experience in their first few years when most guys are struggling to even go .500 let alone win 50+ games every year and make it to the second round.

ya'll will reach for anything to hate on the Sixers lmao

You forget they sat out a year. So this isn't there 2nd and 3rd season. Just because they didn't play doesn't mean they didn't work with a NBA team for a full year.

You can twist the script to whatever bullshit narrative you want but they still spent a full year working on there games with NBA personnel

We're talking playing time, NOTHING accounts for even close to real game experience in the NBA....now you're stretching and saying the year before when players are rehabbing from major injuries count as NBA game time experience? Man, stop it.

I love the expectations that Simmons and Embiid have on them, unlike any other young stars the NBA has. Back-to-back 50+ win seasons and back-to-back second round playoff appearances in their first two seasons playing together? Not good enough, total busts apparently. Must make finals or they're chokers lmfao

Two playoff trips together...that's it. Two. That's the total that Embiid and Simmons have played together in the playoffs, both in Simmons rookie and sophmore season when he was 21 and 22 years old.

Do you know what Jordan did in his first 3 years in the league? He got swept out of the first round in 2 of the 3 playoff trips and posted a combined 1-9 playoff record in those three years. And guess what? He was older too.

How about LeBron? He didn't even make the playoffs his first 2 years.

Maybe Giannis? Read my previous post, it took him until season 6 in the NBA before he had as many playoff wins as Simmons has in his first 2 seasons.

I can go on, and on, and on.

Simmons and Embiid have more than met their expectations and they're well ahead of where the majority of players of their caliber should be. They're doing just fine bud and they're not even in their NBA prime years yet (Embiid has entered that point at 27 now - Simmons still 2-3 years away)
