I understand that. I also understand that classism > racism in terms of how the system wants to deal with you. if you're an affluent person that gets pulled over for a speeding ticket you're probably more likely to get a warning, where as i'll get written the fine every time even if its 10 mph on the highway (gotten this exact citation for 11mph over on the highway several times) see OJ Simpson and Ray Lewis murder trials for reference to what I'm saying... didn't matter if they were black or white what mattered was that they were in the elite class and had people within the system who protected them
I mean we're seeing white people get brutalized by police during these protests, so it's not simply a racial issue. Of course PoC are treated worse in general, but at this point we're seeing so much police brutality over the past few weeks/months that it's obvious reform is necessary and overdue. That's what the protests are about to me. Hell, even conservatives should feel some reform is necessary—bad policing is even beginning to affect white people.
That handicapped homeless man who wasn't even involved in the protest getting shot in the eye by LAPD really stuck with me. There was just no reason for it... officer probably shot him in the eye just because it was fun and he knew he could get away with it.
