No surprise that Giannis and Embiid get doubled more frequently than anyone else in the NBA though.

Issue with Curry and Luka will be team success. NBA won't give the MVP award to someone unless they're basically top 4 seed.

westbrook and jokic both won it as 6 seeds i think

Not surprising, Luka gets doubled non stop. The Mavs lack much firepower to consistently hurt teams outside of him. He's surrounded by role players but no other go-to stars.

I don’t think it’s mostly this tbh. Luka gets doubled often because of what he does when he doesn’t have the ball. He fucking stands there like a traffic cone. So they double you often, then leave & you think you have advantage but you dont. Half the time they just take a 3, Luka doesn’t give a fuck & is out of the play when he doesn’t have the ball. Reminds me of trying to build around Harden or an Early Lebron with just 3 & D players. It’s hard to build around that.

So yea, if I know all I have to do to take Luka outa the play is double him once as soon as he passes half court & he will be uninvolved, I’m doing it. Not because of “bad teammates.”

Lol I noticed this against warriors and pistons too. In the one in a million times he doesn’t have the ball in his hand, he just sits in the corner like a stale loaf of bread.

That doesn't make any sense. Luka is an elite passer and finds the open man as well as anyone in the league can. If he had actual threats around him teams wouldn't be able to double him. The issue is teams aren't afraid of his supporting cast beating him, they're afraid of HIM beating them.

If he had a really good team around him he'd never be able to be doubled like he does. Last night we saw the Pistons picking him up at half court with a double team trap. Guys like Wood aren't going to go off every night like he did, they're all inconsistent role players.
