For Sixers fans I know, opinions on the process vary. Some believe the process meant championship or bust in the future. Even though It was billed as creating a “title contender”. Some fans felt you can’t purposely lose for years and come out on the other side without a championship. Others are satisfied with being in the mix each year and having a very competitive roster. So I guess it depends on who you ask

Personally, I’d say it was worth it so far but a championship would seal the deal. As far as the picks being busts they did miss on some but they used a lot of those assets and maneuvering to come away with Embiid, Harden, Maxey, Tobias (lol)

Whether that’s a championship roster or not I don’t know but it’s a strong collection of talent that’ll consistently win. And the process has them in a clearly better position year after year than they were before (win % wise) as Crunkt showed, which goes for something

I mean there’s 5-7 teams better than them that didn’t intentionally lose a tonne of games over 4 years .

How do you tank that hard for that many assets and not wind up as a top 3 team ?
Especially when you look at players they passed on

Would you rather be a top 5-8 team in the league consistently for years, with a chance to win a title, or where they were in the 5 years pre process where they averaged 35 wins a season and were a fringe playoff team? I get there are other methods to building a team, but this was what the Sixers felt was a path to contention

Should they be a little bit better at this point? Maybe. But I wouldn't call the entire thing a failure. They've positioned themselves much better than where they were before. If intentionally losing for 4 years means you must win a title for it to be seen as a "success", than yeah they failed (so far). But I don't see it that way

The point about missing on draft picks, there were definitely mistakes throughout it all, no denying that. And that's probably why they're top 7-8 instead of a top 2-3 team

I'd consider it a success if they made a finals -- or at least two conference finals ....

But being a second round punching bag doesn't seem like a win from THAT many top 10 draft picks over 4 years
