Uncut gems has no depth either. It's just "shithead with absolutely no redeemable qualities does stupid shit and dies." The entertainment derives from all the dumb shit he does, which doesn't take any artistic talent really. So maybe it's entertaining to watch the main character's escapades, but it doesn't leave me thinking afterwards.
Funny People was another one that didn't resonate with me, although I will say that that one had more depth. I just find all of the relationship drama cringey
Also, like any time Sandler produces a movie for himself, his love interest is some girl half his age. Really cringe
