I'm kind of on this side, but it does seem like he could have used pepper spray or a taser or just shot her fewer times and ended the situation without killing her.
But I can't really feel too bad about it because he had to act fast in a situation made dangerous by the person with the knife
pepper spray and a taser? Neither are lethal force and both often times don't do ANYTHING to slow an attacker down. Especially when people are pumped up on adrenaline or drugs, we've seen time and time again people get hit with tasers and just keep on going. The same goes for gun shots to the limbs, people get hit all the time and don't realize it until after the adrenaline wears off....
You combat lethal force with lethal force, period. This isn't the movies like some people think it is, you can't shoot the gun out of someones hand or pull some ninja shit lol. Police across America are trained to combat lethal force with their firearm and rightfully so. Shoot for center mass when someone has a deadly weapon and that's all there is to it.
The girl literally had a knife out and was lunging at the other girl....i can not wrap my head around the fact that people are actually trying to make this an issue. This isn't about him being wrong, it's just anti-police at work now which is getting ridiculous. That man did his job and he did it well...he potentially saved the life of the other girl in the process.
