Betting odds

Not a good scale lol. Do you realize how and why vegas sets their odds? Its not "this is who we think the favorite to win is." Its all dependant on the action/money they're getting on it or expect to get on it, as they want that money to come in a certain way.

Also, all of these guys above Simmons are big men who are nowhere near as versatile as him. Nty. Simmons handling so much offensively and still locking up defensively is way more impressive than Gobert. Tired of big men getting it just because 💪

It doesn't, but for a player to be so involved offensively AND STILL lock down defensively.....

Way more impressive. Simmons locks down PG's to Centers, at any given time. Gobert isn't doing that. I get his impact as a big man defending the paint, which absolutely is key, but let's be serious...its easier to accomplish than what Simmons is doing. Hence why the award almost always goes to a center.

If Embiid was the favorite you'd tell us all how big men are the clear cut favorites to win it and how embiid is this defensive juggernaut

Big men naturally have the edge, since they're rim protectors and defend the highest % area on the floor. Basketball 101 with that, yes. Hence why they usually win it.

But Simmons is every bit in the convo, just like he should have been last year. He's literally a big man who can move/defend like a guard too. I just hope come voting time he gets what is due and is at least in the top 3 vote. Last year he was 1st in the league in steals per game. This year he's 4th in steals per game, 1st in deflections per game, and 1st in loose balls recovered per game. Defending all 5 positions on the floor, literally.

Haters gonna hate, but there isn't an all-around better defender in the league than Simmons right now.
