Daryl Morey is nicknamed "The Wizard" and he's one of the smartest GM's in the NBA. He'll win multiple championships if he goes to a team that has an owner willing to spend big money. It's a huge loss for the Rockets. I heard that the owner Tillman Fertitta was too hands on. He's the one that ordered the Chris Paul for Russell Westbrook trade a few summers ago because he hated the Paul contract.

Fertitta also told Morey to make moves that got the Rockets under the luxury tax. For example, he wasn't willing to spend the money to keep Trevor Ariza which was a glue guy on a 65-win team, just because he didn't want to surpass the luxury tax threshold. And then he traded Brandon Knight, first-round pick, two second-round picks and Marquese Chriss (salary dump) in the three--team Iman Sumpert trade in early 2019.

It's just so disheartening to hear these stories leak out. I'll miss Daryl Morey. Soon the Rockets will have to rebuild through the draft.

Did these morons not see how incompetent Ty Lue is? Yes, I know people respect and praise him, but... 5 year deal? LOL. Most coaches don't make it past 3, let alone 5, I don't think Lue will be here after two years.
