Maybe the quarantine period before the resumption of the season when they all first entered the bubble wasnt long enough for the bucks to get fully acclimated. The heat players were more used to the humid air and limestone bedrock 🤔

1) no home court after earning the #1 overall seed
2) opponent gets home-state games for all games in the series
3) long layoff resulting in key regular season contributors being unplayable (Ersan, Robin, Marvin, Korver)

It's honestly on them, the team culture, and the coaching that they didn't keep up with their conditioning during quarantine. you can't blame the pandemic for that, everyone had the same opportunity to stay in shape.

shoot i think i remember reading an article that giannis didn't even have a hoop to play on for several weeks. how do you not have a court at your house when you play basketball for a living and are a multimillionaire?

Budenholzer is an overrated coach. And I’m surprised the mvp of the league doesn’t have a personal basketball court. We all know he could use some practice on his jumpshots

Home state games 😂. Yeah they were more familiar and comfortable with the arrangement of the shrubs while locked in that bubble. There were no fans, it’s a neutral court. If the bucks were as historically as good as you kept alluding to for the last 2 years, they shouldn’t need fans in the seats to win a series.

Speaking of home state advantage, does it only selectively apply to the heat? Isn’t bay lake near Orlando? Did feed vucevic not acquire the home state buff?

it doesn't selectively apply to the Heat, the Magic had an ever bigger advantage because it's their gym. it just didn't work out for the Magic because they just aren't that good at full strength and had Isaac/Gordon out

Dude... everyone is under the same circumstances stuck in a fucking hotel for 2 months. Stop. Y’all choked, Clippers Choked, shit happens, Middleton, Bledsoe etc didn’t play as well as they should have, you move on. Not blame something that literally the whole league was going through. Lakers ain’t making no bubble excuses & im definitely not accepting any from Clippers or Bucks.

not every team has multiple old veterans, you can say the Bucks shot themselves in the foot by relying on old veterans, but it's disingenuous to say that all teams constructed their roster that way. the Lakers gambled on old vets too, it just didn't backfire on them like the Bucks. Ersan and Robin literally didn't play a single minute vs the Heat because they were not up to speed. the same type of thing could've happened to important role players who are contributing for the Lakers on their run

it is on the players for not being prepared, it's also on the players for being divided on issues (the Jacob Blake situation did cause a rift in the locker room)

George Hill literally told the team that they shouldn't be there playing basketball when more important issues are going on. imagine being made to feel guilty for wanting to win, there isn't an easy solution to something like that

Coach Bud is overrated if you're talking about his on-the-fly adjustments and in comparison to other elite coaches in the league. That being said, I don't think it's prudent to fire him without a better known commodity to replace him.

I'd be open to McMillan or Donovan; but I wouldn't be upset if they gave Bud another chance either.

Middleton and Giannis could be lying, but according to their own words they did not have access to a basketball court during the layoff. You know LeBron was going full try-hard with all of his facilities and equipment. Credit to LeBron for being prepared for anything and being hungry, he probably kept on his teammates during the shutdown to stay motivated also, that's also a credit to LeBron for good leadership.

And as I said before, depending upon how prepared players were before the quarantine period, some were more acclimated to getting back up to speed whereas other older vets were not keeping up with their conditioning etc as much as they could have

Ersan and Robin were great in the regular season but simply were a negative and therefore didn't play at all during the series vs Miami
