You can't use the same descriptor reversed in this situation, therefore it's not equality. If Luka calls Monretzl a bitch ass black boy, he's the headline of sports pages and the NBA comes down on him.
Becuase it's not 6 months ago, the country, and some parts of the world, have changed and the NBA wants to be at the forefront of that. Welcome to 2020 and pc/cancel culture.
6 months ago you could buy syrup with Aunt Jemima's logo or rice with Uncle Ben's logo. It was only 60 years ago that black and white people were still segregated. It has to happen in small forward steps, whether it upsets the status quo or not. The kind of trash talk that you are referring to became prevalent because it was allowed to be, regardless if it's right or wrong.
Go look up the word equality. If it isn't applied the same to all, it all falls down and cooperation with the movement deteriorates. That's the key here in case you haven't been paying attention. Cooperation from all races in this movement is what has made it so impactful compared to times before.
I don't believe Montrezl was trying to be racist, but it did need to be called out. Stamping out people saying things in sports like 'he's good for a white/black player' etc, is a key step in this movement, that's what people seem to want. Personally I don't really care about it, it doesn't register with me, I'm just telling you why people reacted or thought the way they did.
