With Lillard & CJ it's never about who has the assignment. It's about how does the big and 3rd defender play.
Pelicans swept Portland by relying on AD to stop the drives to the basket & close out on the 3 point shot. Sent Jrue & Rondo over the top of the screen.
AD is unique that he has the ability to play the shot & the drive. So the Pelicans had a great gameplan to slow/hinder Lillard as Portland is a P&R heavy team.
I think the real question is, has Terry Stotts learned to not go into a series against AD questioning his endurance like he did in the Pelicans series.(he literally said before g1 in that series. "We don't believe AD can perform at a high level for 48 minutes)
If Nurk averages 3+ assists per game. The Lakers will be in trouble.
No one really knows how these teams are going to match up. Nurk provides a big change in how Portland runs offense.
Lakers are def favored to win.
Valid points.
I hope Stotts has learned his lesson too. He underestimated AD, and downplayed his ability to designate himself as a 2 way player.
I agree Nurkic is a very underrated playmaker, and if not for Jokic's emergence, I think he would've been one of the perenial All-Star centers if he was the 2nd or 1st focal point/option on offense.

DG on Dame
KCP on Cj
Yes they will their buckets but on the flip side they ass on defense
Dame and CJ gotta cook for 4 games dont think thats happening vs BRON/AD
Bron/AD gonna eat in the paint
KCP on CJ isn't bad, but Blazers defense from the backcourt leaves a lot to be desired. It is sort of deflating when Lillard hits those deep 3's tho.
