Warriors essentially got very lucky, in the regular season, they finished with the fewest minutes lost due to injury in the NBA. While other teams around the league were losing players left and right (especially in the playoffs), the Warriors remained healthy and that's why they're Champions.

Do they have a good team? Yes, absolutely. But like every other Champion, being healthy and rested at the right time is key and the Cavs (along with numerous other playoff contenders) were far from that.

Also notice that the Warriors' primary 8 man rotation had to play way less minutes than anybody else in the NBA because they were beating every team like they were the Sixers. Steph rarely played over 35 minutes a game because he didn't have to. He sat almost twenty entire 4th quarters this year.

It wasn't just luck. It was expert minute management from Kerr and a wealth of talent that provided such luxury.

I really wish we got to see the Clippers match up against the Warriors, they would've fared much better than the Rockets.

You're right, it wasn't JUST luck. But that played a big part, a mixture of great management with a lot of players that are typically injury prone.

Not losing anyone in the playoffs, like a lot of the contenders did, was huge for them. But as you pointed out, that can go back to being in part to the team being deep & well rested from the regular season. Kerr and his staff played it perfectly, using that depth to their advantage.

Clippers lost CP3, Bulls lost Gasol, Grizz lost Gasol/Conley, Wizards lost Wall, Cavs lost Kyrie/Love. Then you look at the Thunder who had no KD (and could of represented the West had they had him). The Warriors? They had everyone.

P.S.

The last time you guys played the Sixers this season back in February, the Warriors only won 89-84. Hardly a "blowout".

So bad example rofl.

We have learned enough in sports throughout the years to be able to know that the best team does not always win championships.

For the Warriors case, they happened to be the best team in the league during the regular season.... but I think flags will always be raised and "what-if's" will be next to this championship. I do thoroughly wonder what would have happened if Gasol and Conley were healthy and if Irving and Love were healthy. That would have made this championship a lot more difficult and a lot more meaningful.

But not to take away from the Warriors, incredible team.. incredible coaching.. incredible front office.

Except more wins is a bad thing in the playoffs if you're a champ.
