Sorry brah, but you aren't convincing anyone that Tatum isn't overhyped and inflated being on a stacked team that manages to make every player overachieve. Somehow everyone that goes to Boston plays well beyond their normal level. They manage to make guys like D.White look great rofl.

We can all agree Tatum would be "good" anywhere, but he'd just be an inefficient all-star wing on a bad team. Instead he's on a team where he can shoot 30% in the finals and still win it all because his teammates bail him out rofl.

He IS the most complete player in the league. Period.

It’s not close. He can shoot poorly, and still be insanely impactful because his overall game is so good. Like I said, his defense, rebounding and passing in the playoffs made it very easy for everyone else on the floor, while every defense was collapsing on him

You'll die on this hill and for that we are proud of you.

But no lol. No matter how many times you tell us this, it still isn't true.

LeBron is still the most complete player in the game, but it is a cupcake era where nobody plays defense and everyone chucks 3s

"Nobody plays defense" is a pretty wild take. Defenses are more complex than ever before and it's not even close. They're so much more advanced the way they're trapping and rotating and just reacting

It's much harder to play defense now, thats for sure. The court is bigger with everyone able to shoot from damn near the logo. The floor is spaced, offenses actually pass the ball now too. There is no big man just sitting in the paint playing help defense anymore like the old days when bigs were just big and not very talented and couldnt defend outside of post-ups lmao. Now thr paint is wide open because they're defending guys who can also shoot, and if they help...boom one or two passes and it's an easy three to a shooter.

Pardon?

Tatum is better than him at literally everything other than passing. Lebron stopped playing D like 4 seasons ago rofl

You’re completely wrong bud. The league has changed its rules to allow someone like LeBron to average 24/9/8 on 63.5% TS at 40. You know what all this 3pt shooting does? It allows players to rest imo, on offense and defense. How many times do you see players go sit in the corners on offense and just watch high pick and roll's happen. Spread the offense means, put shooters all around the court and they sit there and wait for a pass. They are not running around for back screens or high-low action. Then on offense, if LeBron wants to rest for a few plays, all he has to do is go sit in the corner and let Austin Reeves run high pick and roll. He did the same thing with Kyrie in Cleveland.

One major difference from the old NBA vs the new NBA is they would isolate weak defenders and take them one on one. It would be exciting to see Magic go up against Michael, Dr. J go up against Larry Bird, Barkley go up against Malone, Isiah go up against Stockton. Watching Tim Hardaway do his Texas Two Step vs Gary Payton was must watch TV. Watching Shawn Kemp take lobs for dunks was must watch TV. Watching Stockton/Malone surgically dismantle the Bulls defense with the pick and roll (and not just high pick and rolls) gave you an appreciation for Stockton's passing ability and Malone's finishing ability. LeBron’s media personnel has somehow convinced you that guys like Stockton had no talent or athleticism, not anymore than your 8th grade math teacher.

When you go watch a game now, it’s nothing but 3's. The league as a whole is averaging over 37 three-point shots a game. Seven teams are averaging over 40 three's and the Celtics are averaging 50 three's and they're the champs. I am not in the camp that defending 3pt shots is harder, that type of defense is pray and hope they miss and you can be fifty years old playing that type of defense. I know you believe it’s some complex thing but it really isn’t.

Nobody wants to watch old school inefficient iso ball anymore when offenses were junk and half the players on the floor couldn't even shoot.

Players are more skilled now by a mile and it's not even close. Guys are doing things they never did before. Offenses are spaced, they move the ball better than ever, and defenses actually have to work. That's the reality. Big men used to not even leave the paint lmao. Now they're not just running block to block, but they're switching on the perimeter and defending everywhere. It's a far more (complex) game than ever before on both ends.

Nothing wrong with admitting the game has progressed, players and coaches have gotten smarter and more skilled.
