Masai got lucky that the Spurs would rather get fleeced in a trade than help the Lakers.

I will give him some credit for getting him though. No chance he was going to stay and it resulted in a title. But still, that trade fell into his lap. Kawhi wanted out. Spurs didn't want to help LA. And Spurs wanted to ship his ass to the furtherst thing from warm cozy weather.
