Anyone know what causes the pokeball ball to randomly curve way off path?
It might be the most frustrating thing in the game. What causes it? Is there any way to anticipate it?

I dealt with this in the beginning. But I mastered the curve to the point where that's all I do. It's a guaranteed hit but not a guaranteed catch.

That's what I was thinking. So, you've not ever had it happen when throwing the intended curve?

That only happens to me on high cp pokemon. I figured it was them causing it.

yeah this happened frequently so i switched to the curve ball. i thought it was always me that made the ball curve because i wasn't swiping at a completely straight angle.

Same, which is what makes it so infuriating.
It sucks that it appears to be random and no way to avoid it or play it smart

Stopped playing for a day because pokemon where getting mad hard to catch but been really lucky today only using 1-2 balls for each. Definitely seems a lot easier?

Am I crazy or does it seem like there are more pokemon out today? I seem to be having much more encounters

The curve ball Is known bug when you give them a berry

I had read that but, it happens without berries too
I also read that someone data mined the game or w/e and there was something called "fear aura" that was understood to curve the ball off target.
Who knows tho, absolutely stupid that Niantic doesn't make all this known. Everything is pretty much speculation and theory
