So we can all agree to just act like last night didn't happen, right?

Embiid look dominant as usual, 31 points at halftime and carried the first half of the game, but my god did the rest of the team look sluggish and uninterested. Shows how valuable Ben is though, his defense and activity on both ends were deeply missed. Plus, without Ben they sometimes struggle to get the god damn ball up the court and run a real offense. Seth Curry can't run point, and he can't do shit right now anyway since coming back from Covid.

No excuse for that showing though, but that's the NBA for ya. Coming off a b2b on a West Coast road trip, with a look ahead game against the Nets coming up on Saturday, this thing was set up for disaster. Just didn't expect them to get destroyed like that in the second half.

Oh well, that's an NBA season for you and those games happen. It's all about how they bounce back from it, and there's a bounce back game tomorrow night against Brooklyn. Should be a good one.

Yeah lol, going to try and wipe that game from my mind. A win against Brooklyn would make everything right again.

76ers #3 on NBA.com's power rankings. Lakers #1 and Jazz #2.

Quote
Ben Simmons is just 1-for-6 from 3-point range (his last attempt was two weeks ago and barely grazed the rim), but he leads the league with 93 assists on 3-pointers (4.4 per game), even though the Sixers rank 24th in total 3-pointers as a team. It helps that they have more shooters around him, but Simmons led the league in 3-point assists before the season was suspended last year. This season, the Sixers have shot 41% from 3-point range with Simmons on the floor and just 29% with him off the floor. And that discrepancy doesn’t shrink much (it becomes 39% vs. 29%) when you removed the numbers of Seth Curry, who has played 86% of his minutes alongside Simmons. Tobias Harris has been much more efficient alongside the starting point guard.

Without Simmons against Portland on Thursday, the Sixers went almost 30 minutes without hitting a 3-pointer, missing their first 12 attempts from beyond the arc. He returned on Saturday and assisted on five of their 10 3-pointers in an easy win over Brooklyn. He bends the defense with his attacks into the paint, he sees the entire floor, and he delivers sharp and accurate passes.

Joel MVP Embiid with a career high tonight, less than a week after Simmons dropped a career high 42.

50 PTS
17 REB
5 AST
4 BLK
2 STL

17-26 FG
15-17 FT
1-2 3PT

The haters are quiet these days. We aren't stopping at just an MVP chase though, Finals is the goal baby!

Tough loss last night, did a good job finding open shots but guys just couldn't knock them down. Just one of those nights I guess. Went absolutely ice cold in the final 8-9 minutes scoring only 2 buckets down the stretch.

On the bright side, Simmons continues to display incredible progress as a scorer.

Over his last four games (POR, PHX, UTAH, TOR), Ben Simmons is averaging 28/9/8 on 69% FG, 79.5% FT, 73.8% TS. If we're already in agreement that he's one of (if not THE) best defensive player in the NBA and one of the best passers, what exactly are we looking at here? :locked:

Simmons last 12 games: 20/8/8 on 62.3% FG and over 71% from the FT line.

This man took those James Harden trade rumors personal, and has been on a mission ever since :o

"Embiid in NBA season 5: 4x consecutive all-star, 2x all-nba 2nd team, 2x all-nba 2nd team defense, 2020-21 MVP front runner

Simmons in NBA season 4: 3x consecutive all-star, ROY, 1x all-nba 3rd team, 1x all-nba 1st team defense"

I liked the process
