The Celtics outscored the Warriors by 24 (40-16) over the final 12 minutes in Game 1. That’s the most lopsided 4th quarter in NBA Finals history. The previous record (23) was held by the 1960 Celtics (over Hawks) and 1982 Sixers (over Lakers).
In that 4th quarter, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Derrick White (+27) set the Finals record for the best plus/minus in a single quarter, and Klay Thompson (-27) set the Finals record for the worst plus/minus in a single-quarter (data available since 1996-97).
