Never thought I'd see this bunch of mature 30+ year old basketball 'fans' sensationalize the contemporary game. That's meant for young/casual fans to qualify and substantiate themselves.
Of course when we compare players spanning decades; many benefitted from the evolution of sports medicine and game techniques....
What hasn't changed is their will; and yall silly af if you really dont think OGs had desire or will to win just as much as any.
Give them the benefit of modern sports medicine and they would push their abilities further, adapting new techniques too.
It's all based on a fallacy of hypotheticals. You can't just put them in a vacuum when things are not equal.
Could not agree more, and I’ve always said this.
The tall idiot on this forum loves to say how Embiid is a much better player than Shaq was, because he can guard the perimeter (well he can’t really, but old mate likes to claim he can), and is a good jump shooter.
But if Shaq was born in todays league, he’d likely be doing those things. The greats were great for a reason, they knew how to be better than their peers.
