depends how many manual adjustments do you want/need to have? if you want something that just has good picture quality made by a reputable manufacturer I would recommend this camera

Can't comment I don't own one, but the reviews on this camera are all positive from what i've seen on Amazon and Newegg

Battery life according to reviews is short, but shouldn't be an issue if you're not going on really long hikes or something where you can't just charge up again
