Agree love AB, wanted to keep him, but he was gonna get paid. Plus Irving and Bradley is a very small back court. Morris is also an great LBJ defender, held him to his lowest FG% last year, even better Kawhi, Durant, or any other LBJ stopper.
Without losing Bradley, we couldn't think of getting Hayward, and losing Smart instead of AB might've been a big problem, now that we can see Irving can do what IT can do... Play solid offense, play make, while being a better defender, not getting destroyed on every play.
I think Brad Stevens is trying to go for a more heavy switch offense and defense.
Irving one of the best in tips and loose balls so far this season
Top 5 in both I believe
Love that he can boxout on the glass -- unlike IT
The biggest plus is him being 6'3 vs. IT @ 5'9 closing out to contest 3s
