Of course a game whose monetization method is the initial sale made more money in the first days of its release than a game that hasn't even been monetized yet except for minor microtransactions. PoGo is still far more popular than GTA 5, far more valuable, far more lucrative.
For comparison, GTA 5 has sold around 65 million copies. At $60, in pure revenue before any expenditures that's $3.9 billion (i.e. only 4x more than how much it made in its first 3 days).
Pokemon Go is valuated at $30-40 billion, i.e. 10x more than GTA brought in in gross revenue. The game already has a yearly earnings potential of $17 billion if it were to be monetized with ads.
And that's before it's even been released globally! The real numbers are even greater.
