Ainge is going to Overpay for a Rental?

I do know it wouldn't cost all that lol. I'm just saying what we can package if it does come down to it.
We can easily match your picks we much better picks. That's the biggest difference.

It seems Ainge believes landing AD would basically guarantee Kyrie re-signing.

Ainge is going to Overpay for a Rental? AD specifically came out and said he wouldn't Resign with Celtics

He personally said this? When

Wasn't on that list of teams he would resign with, if he wanted to be in Boston he would say so.

The list extended to 2 teams that can't acquire him? Sounds like a nice bluff attempt by Rich Paul.
I'm not saying he is re-signing, but teams are not scared to deal for stars.

Definitely not going to trade Tatum and then some just to call a bluff. If New Orleans thinks the Celtics are willing to commit as much as the Lakers are in this deal without a commitment from Davis, they're dumb.

Who said we have to though? The Lakers offer stands at 2x 1sts, not 4x 1sts. They are also the least valuable 1sts a team can offer....
We can match the players easily, and I highly doubt it's going to cost all of our picks considering he will be on a 1 year contract vs. the Lakers are getting him this year as well.

I wouldn't call Danny Ainge dumb....please take a look at the trades he has made in the past

With this request for 4 1st rounders on top of the young players and salary cap relief, sounds like the Pelicans are just seeing how much they can squeeze out of the Lakers. They will take a deal by the deadline, if they risk taking this into next season and Davis never states he would stay in Boston, they're going to lose their leverage and get a worse deal, they should quit while they're ahead.

Solomon Hill for 1 year is barely cap relief. Considering the trash situation they will be in, they can eat his contract for 1 year if they have to lol. Edit: What I mean by this, it's another win for the Pelicans if you guys are also taking Hill, but they don't REALLY have to move him.
That's exactly what they are doing. Getting everything possible out of LA because Boston would likely win a trade come summer time.
The Knicks would also be in play here, especially if they land the #1 pick.

They don't lose any leverage, they have all of it.

You're right. My bad there. I think Pelicans just aren't caving for LA.

They would absolutely lose leverage, if Davis doesn't add the Celtics to his list of teams he would sign an extension with, how would they get a better deal out of Boston than what the Lakers are offering now, like you said, Ainge isn't dumb. Pelicans would then be left until the next deadline or he's just going to walk away and they get nothing, GL getting the Lakers to pay up for half a season of Davis like they're willing to pay for a season on top of that. If the Pelicans want to guarantee a massive haul for Davis, they need to make the deal now.
