What's wrong with wanting Klay and not Beal? Klay is miles ahead in terms of catch and shoot. Dude's an automatic 41% from deep, regardless of how many attempts he takes. He doesn't want to handle the ball, just shoot and defend.
Also. Klay is on an expiring contract. He's making 19 mil.

Here's some math, kids.

If we would trade for Beal this season, he's getting paid 25m this year, 27 in 2019/20 and 29 in 2020/21.
If we wait for Klay to become a free agent, it's all up to whatever deal we can get with him.
He could sign an extension worth 187m with GSW this summer. A max contract with us would be 132m.
However, if we look at the cap being 108m next year. Basically impossible to keep Durant AND Klay next season.
