He saw NOLA get Steven Adams, Bledsoe & four 1st round picks for freakin’ Jrue Holiday, so they want something similar haha. Granted, that was a 4-team deal
The only problem the Houston Rockets will run into is if they hold on to James Harden for too long. He'll just be unhappy and may not play his best. And then next off-season rolls around and the Rockets will feel more urgency to trade him. Next year at this time Harden will be entering the final year on his contract before he can decline his player option for 2022.
James Harden can opt out and become an unrestricted free agent after next season. You already know that he'll 100% do that if he already turned down a two-year, $103M extension. The richest salary in NBA history. So the Houston Rockets may have all the leverage right now, but if they wait too long all that leverage will go to Harden and his agent which just so happens to be his mother.
So we may not have a choice here. If we want to maximize James Harden's trade value it may be best to trade him right now. We'll see.
