Doesn't take a mastermind to trade away an all star, good rotation player, nice young building prospect and a possible #1 pick of next year for a similar all star

Kyrie is 3 years younger, taller, better defender, way higher ceiling, and the best in the league at 2 or 3 different crucial skills. He's super young and has the potential to be an MVP caliber player. Not really the same.

i don't see how the win win here. Sure cavs got some rebuilding pieces (the pick and zizic) but with this likely being lebrons last year I thought they would have made a win now deal. I definitely think they got great value for kyrie... I would've just thought that next year will be their best chance at a ring for the foreseeable future and imo trading kyrie they gave up having a realistic shot at it.

The Celtics however got their other superstar AND took him from their biggest competition. Once lebron leaves the Celtics will be favorites for a while - until the sixers hopefully get their core developed.

only way I think the Celtics could've done better is give up taytum instead of the next Brooklyn pick but that's because I have never liked taytum :)

It is a win win. If Lebron leaves, what better way to rebuild then with the most likely #1 pick? If he doesn't want to leave, they can flip the pick for a great player to add.
