Problem is that nobody really knows one way or the other what will happen. You can expect things to happen (opening up too early will cause it to spike is more than likely, but you don't know it will 100% happen) but you can't really find out until you do it.
Suicide prevention hotlines, teletherapy/texts, etc. have all skyrocketed during the quarantine.
Which option is better? 100% chance of a second wave from opening too early or 100% chance of mental health pandemic due to quarantine?
I see and understand both sides but nobody really knows which one will be the best choice for the future.
I will say this though, people are getting tired of quarantine and are just going out on their own without any structure. Might as well have the government control it in phases like some states are doing.
suicide still a choice, getting infected because your care taker needed a hair cut isn't
government needs to step in and take on how people's bills are being pushed or provide legislation that allows loans/payback periods or just flat out reductions in cost
stimulus checks are a bandaid for folks, what they need to do is freeze bills, help support those companies who provide essential services (water, mortgages, internet, etc) and go from there so that people can continue eating, sleeping, and living
