Save your evolves for level 9 when you get the double xp egg, find a spot with a bunch of stops that have lures and sit and evolve all your pokemon/hit the stops for 30min

catch every pokemon you come across, and transfer away anything you have doubles of. Save the higher level one, transfer the lower level. Then once you have tons of candies and pokemon ready to be evolved, use the egg/incense on a triple lure stop area and evolve all your pokes and catch a shit load too
