IDK man its hard to pass up Howard, I think I would do it.

You are talking about the most irreplaceable player in the NBA who is also the back2back2back DPOY for that matter.

Not to mention he is amazingly not injury prone and still young.

Pretty sure that is the future right there, and a team like the Lakers would have no problem putting talent around him, something Orlando can't do.

If I were the Lakers I wouldn't hesitate.

It would be quite difficult to put talent around him if they gave up both pau + bynum. Who would they get? How would they get him? Trade Fisher? Blake? Barnes? Artest? Nobody would want 'em

Dude, I'm a Laker fan, but seriously? You think that's all it would take? That's quite funny.

On a side note, no racial, but lakers lookin to sign a buncha white doods huh? Kapono, McNugget, Troy Murphy....

Who have they signed so far?

Kapono
McRoberts
Millsap Jr.
Another D-League scrub
Gerald Green
Murphy (possibly?)

Is Ric Bucher really saying that? He's on with Stephen A. Smith on Sportscenter saying the Lakers are basically done and Kobe may want out again. They are on the outside looking in for winning another NBA championshiop. Bucher says the Lakers should have made a big trade and shakeup last year. Is he serious?

They were the defending NBA champions and there was no reason to make any major moves at that time. It's not the Lakers fault for David Stern vetoing that Chris Paul acquisition that all three teams agreed upon just a week ago. I still think the Lakers are better than the Clippers despite losing Odom and them gaining Chris Paul.

The Lakers still have one of the best teams in the Western Conference. As long as Gasol and Kobe stay healthy, they'll be there in the end.

Lakers just need to ride it out. Once they're sitting pretty atop the Western Conference standings near the trading deadline, I'm sure something big opens up at that time. I think the NBA set this year's trading deadline to March 15. So we have to see what happens until then. I'm thinking a three-way trade is still a possibility: Rockets get Pau Gasol, Lakers get Dwight Howard, Magic get Andrew Bynum, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and the Knicks' 2012 first-round pick (courtesy of Houston).

Orlando can still get the best deal if they deal Dwight Howard to the Lakers, preferably in a three-team trade. The Magic would still have a playoff-caliber team in the Eastern Conference if they're smart enough to make the right trade. I don't like what Orlando would get if they made a trade with the Nets or Mavericks.
