BREAKING Adrian Wojnarowski

After a rapid courtship and negotiation, Doc Rivers has reached agreement on a deal to become the next coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN.

And there it is.

I like it. He became available and immediately was the favorite for a reason. I think this is the right move and i'm glad we didn't go with Ty Lue lol.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but, Doc Rivers is actually a good fit for the Sixers.

He has a back bone, and he's proven and established in this league all of which I think this team needs. A lot of egos and strange fits that need to be utilized to their max potential.

I think he's a loud voice in the room and will definitely hold guys accountable, which is what this team needs.

Most importantly he won’t call Ben Simmons fucking trash & threaten to bench him if he doesn’t magically turn into a shooter. He’s actually a decent coach.

Nice hire.

Its crazy to think all the stars he has coached

Kevin Garnett
Paul Pierce
Ray Allen
Rajon Rondo
Chris Paul
Blake Griffin
DeAndre Jordan
Kawhi Leonard
Paul George

Plus a lot more

He'll definitely demand the respect of the young guns of Embiid and Simmons who might try and have an ego. He should whip them into shape.

Also should be good at maximizing Tobias, Horford and JRich.

Don't forget he coached Tobias for a few years with the Clippers, when Tobias was their #1 scoring option and helped them hold a playoff spot in the West.

Tobias Harris had best stretch in NBA under Doc Rivers

Harris averaged 20.3 points, 7.2 rebounds with Clippers from 2017-19, shooting 43% from 3 point range

Do you see Horford ever fitting on this team? I didn't understand the signing when it happened and the season didn't exactly change any minds.

I'm not sure if he'll ever be a perfect fit, but he can be utilized a LOT better. The Sixers offensive flow was ass, and it didn't fit his style of play or maximize his ability (especially as the good passer that he is).

I'm more interested to see JRich maximized because he can be a lot better than he was last season as we saw in his Miami days.

Doc has his work cut out for him, but the talent is there. It should be interesting. He just has to be real with this team and get on guys because BB was too much of a friend to some of these guys.

I’m told within hours of Doc Rivers becoming available Monday, Josh Harris wanted to send a plane to interview Doc Rivers

Sixers went after Doc immediately.

Sources tell me the players wanted him to be their coach

I’m told Doc had multiple teams that wanted him
