Holding Embiid now on a team that's clearly not contending does the rockets no good and he won't be happy there.

I just don't know if Daryl Morey is going to be on board with that total rebuild plan. Even during his worst years as the Rockets general manager, and without any superstars, he still had the Rockets finishing 9th place in the Western Conference three straight years when they should've been tanking. Barely missing the playoffs and always competing with the likes of Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic. They kept getting mediocre lottery picks. 14th pick two straight years and then they had the 12th, 14th and 18th pick in 2012. Nabbing Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones. Some of those assets eventually led to the James Harden trade.

Now imagine if the rockets had way more assets(any decent player or two) than those bums to begin with and added Harden, they'd have a championship by now.
