I think we might have gotten a steal with Larry Nance Jr. That pick got a lot of criticism because mock drafts didn't have him going in 1st round but he was still recovering from his ACL tear. He is insanely athletic with some great basketball instincts(has NBA bloodlines, obviously) and had a great combine(7'2" wingspan with a 38" vertical!). By no means am I calling him a future superstar but he can definitely carve out a career as a rotation player and energy guy off the bench; maybe a starter if he makes significant improvements to his jumpshot.
I also liked what I saw from Anthony Brown. His shot, which he wad touted for, wasn't really on display but the guy can really defend. All his shots I can remember missed short so it could be due to rust due the layoff after the college season. On defense, I saw him switch on to smaller/quicker guards and was able to stay glued to them on the perimeter. He also had a few blocks from weak-side which were very impressive. While he's primarily a 3, I can see him playing some 2 as well thanks to his ability to handle the ball.
Upshaw looked basically exactly like I expected. He had some great blocks against KAT and even one against Okafor, but he showed poor footwork and zero feel on offense. He is also nowhere near game-shape so tough to draw any conclusions yet.
Tarik Black consistently looked like the worst player on the floor. Missed some very makeable shots and had some serious issues playing defense without fouling. He does a good job rebounding but his lack of length was very evident. I still think he makes the team but it was disappointing to see him struggle in a league he should be dominating in, being a sophomore.
Oh and Clarkson >>>>>
He's a really cool dude too.
i dont really take much from summer league
but it shows jclarkson improved with his shot selection and his overall iq of the game
tarik is gonna end up fouling out every game rofl
