Oh so Now its ok because he should be the latest shitty list runner who protects welchers and supports bad rules?

Or should we cut counter-intuitive bad rules that protect scammers?

Irrelevant. In both cases it sends a message of clear intent to accept the bet, whether the fg was sent upfront or not.

You're an already welcher-tagged scumbag trying to scam new kids, whether the list runner currently condones it or not.

You went full blown potato here cam, even for you. We have rules in place for a reason and it's not subjective like you want it to be, sorry, but it works. Too many terms can be used to say kind of confirmed or I guess or some grey answer to get out of a bet. It's clear cut what constitutes a bet and everyone here even with the trolling usually helps new bettors learn the rules before hand. If you could come up with something that would actually work better, I would be all for putting it to a vote and instituting this new rule if it passed, but it can't be subjective because it creates way more ways to welch than the current scenario does, and we arent going to spend days voting on whether tommy bet sally 25 fg when she said I suppose.

I already did propose something better.
"Just change the rules to simply require a confirmation, rather than the exact word 'confirmed' (or abbreviation)"
Someone saying "cool gl" after they agree to terms is a clear confirmation of the bet. Thats not subjective, thats a fact in accordance with the English language.

Opposition to a magic word as the only legitimate confirmation, and pulling up a direct quote of yourself agreeing with my position in the thread of the issue YOU mentioned is not going "full potato".
If you tell anyone anywhere else in the world that if they didn't say "confirmed" the bet doesn't count they'll look at you like a fucking alien with down syndrome. (sorry wisco)

Other people helping out sometimes is not a good reason to keep bad rules that protect scammers.

But what you consider a comfirmed as to other people could be WAYYYYYYYYY different.

Having a couple set words just keeps the sly guys honest.

Except for it doesn't, as clearly indicated throughout the thread.
Saying a form of the exact word "confirmed" is not intuitive at all and easily leads to dubious situations that take advantage of newer users who don't know the secret garden password.

The OP had every reason to assume it was a legitimate bet.

A list runner being too lazy to sort out legitimate confirmations with reasonable interpretations of the English language is not a good enough reason for me.

Should really read the betting rules before you even start betting IMO. Calling the list runner lazy is rather humorous to me seeing how much shit he puts up with to help us bet fake currency. Rules are the rules dont like them then dont bet. Go play Diablo and follow the 2/3 rule (if they still do that)

Just my two cents though

Exactly.

It's not our job to "protect" new bettor.

There's meds like sheriff that will med bets for people hes never even talked to, theres a guide that CLEARLY explains how to place a bet... if a new bettor decides to disregard both of those, then he will learn his lesson and never make that mistake again.

It's very simple and objective.

You say confirmed and a bet is official.

Theres no gray areas or "accordance with the English language" thats going to drastically vary from person to person. What's "intent" to you, isnt going to be intent to everybody else.

It would create 100x more problems doing what youre suggesting.

Your suggestion is total shit. You are taking the current system which is totally cut and dry and trying to make it way more subjective than what is currently in place. What if someone says my xxx vs your xxx for up to 500 fg. And the response is I only have 300 fg do you want that? And then ops response is just simple "moar". Did he confirm the bet or is he looking for more than 300? Does he not want a bet that small or does he want that bet and another bet?
