We can't have lma and Randle starting....

That along with a slow, injury prone Kobe Bryant and our new rookie (who isn't known for his defense) in russell would for sure give us the worst defense in the league.

Kobe's only got one more year though, right? Probably won't be contending next year, so it doesn't matter how bad their defense is, just let the young guys develop a bit, maybe end up with another quality pick and start the post-Kobe era the next year.

We would still have the problem of terrible defense with a randle lma frontcourt. That's what my previous post was mainly about. We aren't going anywhere with a frontcourt that cannot protect the rim.

so does that mean we attempt and reach big for Gasol,DJ ?
Try for a wing like Carroll or Green? and have Russell of the bench?

decisions i hope Mitch has a plan since he went with Russell > Okafor.

Going to be a good season no matter what.

Nah Russell is starting for sure. Marc Gasol would be perfect but I don't think we'll get him.

Yeah, I have faith in the Lakers' front office to be honest, they must have just not liked Okafor or they really think this Russell kid will be a franchise player. Who knows?


Still shocked they turned down a big man, however.
