Beautiful

That's what I like to hear

Do not trade Embiid or Simmons, and let a new head coach bring a new system in to actually make things work properly.

BB lost me when he said he didn't like the idea of going 4 out around Embiid but prefered to always have a guy in the "dunkers spot"

A system that works with a pg that cant shoot 3?

Hmm

Two years ago the Sixers were a 52 win team with a top 5 offense in the NBA with that "PG that can't shoot 3" running point full time for them (as a rookie).

Last year the Sixers were a few bounces away from knocking off the Champs before they became champs in a game 7.

No issue with Simmons being the lead playmaker, but it's the players they surround them with that matter the most. Embiid and Simmons need SHOOTERS around them, something they didn't have enough of this season.

Shoutout to Hinkie, and purposely leaving Colangelo off.

I love it

Part of the blame definitely goes to him.

It sounds like they are going to restructure majority of the front office and surround him with new people though.

I've read this from a lot of people, many of whom don't follow the Sixers that close or really follow how their front office works, etc.

Brett Brown had a huge hand in every single personnel decision made, including the decision to hire Elton Brand. Although Brand's title was "General Manager" he was a puppet as a new GM and in all honesty had less say than BB did.

Elton Brand is incredibly respected around the NBA, and has always been regarded for not only being really professional but having a really high basketball IQ. There's no reason to fire him (yet), but rest assured he'll be the next one on the chopping block if things don't turn around.

Sam Hinkie was Philadelphia's president of basketball operations. Bryan Colangelo was quickly named president of basketball operations. Until Elton Brand is elevated from the Sixers' general manager, the possibility of ownership hiring a president above him will always remain.

tl;dr: the organizational chart in the organization was murky to say the least.

This. Too many cooks in the kitchen from what I've heard. Brand is pretty much just a face with very little power at all

Silver lining in losing Simmons and getting swept, is that it shook the front office and made them realize Brett Brown wasn't the guy that was going to lead this team to a title.

All the respect in the world for him, he's a great person and definitely a good coach for the right squad but in the NBA head coaches don't last long (unless you're Pop rofl) and you lose your grip on the locker room quick with the divas they have in the NBA these days.

Most marriages don't last seven years, let alone an NBA head coach.
