My guy really just said Harden should be humbled in a few years and come off the bench... Put a decent fucking team around him, and see how far they go.

Oh wait, you mean taking one of the greatest teams assembled to 7 games, and legit losing the game because they had one of the worst shooting streaks in NBA playoff history of going 0-27.

Guy averages over 29.6 PPG on 66% TS throughout his HOU tenure, and he should come off the bench... Right.

Correct.

I think he’s obviously a starter right now and I think he will continue to have success but do not believe he can win a title as the main guy.

His collapse against Golden State only reaffirms what I’m talking about although I personally put Houston’s shit on D’Antoni’s system, not Harden personally.

I have nothing bad to say about James Harden. He gave the city of Houston eight fantastic years! The Houston Rockets made the playoffs all eight of those years which is the longest active streak in the NBA. Harden wants to create a super team in Brooklyn and win his first ring. I get it! But if the Philadelphia 76ers offer the best deal, which would include Ben Simmons and a first-round pick, that's the deal I'd rather have compared to any package the Nets can put together.

Also, I want to trade Russell Westbrook to the Knicks for Julius Randle and more draft picks. Maybe we can throw Robert Covington or Eric Gordon into the deal to make it more satisfying. It would likely need to be a three-team trade. We'd also take on a bad contract or two in that deal to make the salaries work. The third team in the trade would need to have a lot of cap space to help facilitate the type of blockbuster trade that I envision involving Russell Westbrook.

A Ben Simmons and Julius Randle tandem could be fun and exciting to watch. It would accelerate a Rockets rebuild plan. The draft picks wouldn't hurt also.

Here's the thing. Do the Houston Rockets wait two years to rebuild when Harden and Westbrook can both opt out and become unrestricted free agents? Or do the Rockets try to maximize the trade value of Harden and Westbrook, which will likely not be any higher than it is right now? You can even argue that Westbrook doesn't even have the type of great value he would've had two or three years ago. He's on the decline but Harden isn't.

TL:DR - I don't like the Nets offer for Harden. The 76ers can offer us a better deal. Westbrook to the Knicks is likely. And Houston sports is stressing me out!
