He'll be a point guard for the Rockets. Will learn from Fred VanVleet, who's even smaller height wise.
People have to stop calling him an undersized shooting guard. He's been training with Chris Paul also

Reed Sheppard is similar size as Stephen Curry. Is he too small? If you can shoot you can shoot!!
I wish we had Reed Sheppard in Game 7 of the 2018 WCF. Lost by 9 and missed 27 straight threes.

ESPN Sources: The Atlanta Hawks are trading F AJ Griffin to the Houston Rockets for the 44th pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. Griffin, 20, was a 2022 first-round pick out of Duke.

Do you guys know anything about AJ Griffin? Rockets already have a deep roster. Two units deep. Rockets have some guys on their bench that could be starters on some other teams. Makes sense to trade the #44 pick in the second round tonight as that guy is unlikely to see any legitimate minutes. The playing rotation that Ime Udoka has is very deep now.

Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun starting five.
Reed Sheppard, Cam Whitmore, Amen Thompson, Tari Eason and Steven Adams backups...

They still have Jeff Green, who played well for his age last year also. Jock Landale isn't good but a big body. LOL

But I can't lie guys. I secretly wanted Bronny James at 44. Oh well.

The Houston Rockets have a very impressive and deep roster with just about everything you want. They now have some good shooting which they haven't had in many years. A 41-win team last year that nearly made a run to the Play-In Tournament after a 13-2 March record. But once Alperen Sengun went down with that season-ending injury they couldn't win enough games the final month. Also were missing Steven Adams and Tari Eason. I'll be stunned if they don't make the playoffs now. I expect 50+ wins. I really do. 52 wins should be plenty for a playoff seeding. Shouldn't even need the 7 to 10 Play-In Tournament.

Not to say they'll be ready to take down the Dallas Mavericks or the Minnesota Timberwolves. But now they're better equipped to compete with all the top teams in the Western Conference. They had a nice record vs. the Nuggets and Kings last year. Struggled with the Warriors (as always) but they spanked the Lakers a couple times. Rockets have the athleticism and youth to do big things. A great head coach also in Ime Udoka. Am I being too much of a fanatic or are the Rockets ready for liftoff?

I look at the best teams in the Western Conference. And then I look at the Houston Rockets roster. I don't see anything that scares me anymore.

Undrafted Oregon center N'Faly Dante has agreed on a two-way deal with the Rockets, sources tell ESPN.

Maybe the Houston Rockets can try to trade or let go of third-string center Jock Landale and his $8M per year.
I'd rather have this athletic freak of nature on the roster. Also good insurance in case Steven Adams isn't healthy.

Also I forgot to mention the OKC Thunder on my previous post. They may be the team to beat in the West going into next year. But Rockets are closing that gap.

@wojespn: “Dallas has traded Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round picks to Detroit for Quentin Grimes, sources tell ESPN.”

“This move positions the Mavs to offer a significant part of the $12.9M nontaxpayer midlevel exception to Derrick Jones Jr. GM Nico Harrison has called re-signing Jones “priority 1A and 1B” for the offseason.“

It won't be much longer until the Texas triangle is back. Mavericks are already stacked but the Rockets and Spurs are coming fast.

The Houston Rockets are expected to show interest in Zion Williamson, Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell, per @sam_amick & @anthonyVslater

“So, who are the Rockets interested in as franchise centerpiece material? League sources say that Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell (who is 27 and widely expected to sign an extension with the Cavs soon), the Suns’ Devin Booker (also 27) and New Orleans’ Zion Williamson (23) would all fit the bill. The only problem, of course, is that none of them are expected to be available anytime soon.”

Meanwhile the Houston Rockets will continue to remain patient with an impressive young roster that is capable of making the playoffs next season. Holding several draft pick assets. Including the Suns' 2027 and 2029 unprotected first-round picks that they acquired from Brooklyn. The Rockets are believed to be positioning themselves for the long-term chase of a proven superstar via trade should one become available.

Keep an eye on the young Houston Rockets. They're built to compete right now and hold several options to bolster their roster for a championship window.
