I remember I checked the data on this last year or something and my conclusion was that teams that get more than 5 days of rest win like 70% of series so the anecdotal evidence I am providing you right now says that teams don't get cold and lose historically after resting too much as a result of being too good the round before.

And I think the being good part influences the data a lot. Regardless if teams do get cold or not the better teams will naturally have more of these periods of rest simply due to the fact that these teams are going to 4-0 4-1 anyway. That translates to winning the next series simply because they are good already.
