Edge to Sixers b.c they traded a guy who quite literally will not play and a good shooter for a top 15-20 player in the league

Two late picks and a backup center on a 1-year deal don't mean much in grand scheme of things. And if the 2027 pick happens to be high its top 1-8 protected so still covered there

Both teams improved though

Nets by a Mile. Solid shooter, solid 5, and a young DPoY that will improve his shot.

The Nets won the trade. James Harden is just as much of a malcontent as Simmons is except old and fat too.

It’s funny to me that 76ers fans think they’re getting Houston Rockets James Harden. He isn’t getting those foul baiting calls like he used to and he’s getting whistled for his “excellent paint defense” of grabbing people around the restricted area.

As soon as Embiid has another one of his 15+ game injuries, Harden will be whining again.

I'll bet any amount of money that we see Harden's efficiency improve on the 76ers by the end of this season.

Look at who he has been playing with in Brooklyn. God awful players who most are not even NBA caliber or fringe guys. He had hardly played with KD, Kyrie or Harris.

He's going to be a massive upgrade and the best guard the 76ers have had since Allen Iverson, easily.

Sixers won this trade.

Why?

Harden is a great shooter. Fits team like a glove.

Both teams get a player that fails in the playoffs.
But a guard that can shoot > than a guard that can’t shoot.

It looks like the Sixers are going to dominate the east.
But Harden is known to be undisciplined.

Define "fails in the playoffs" for Harden though? Just not winning it all i guess?

Averaged 28/11/7 in the playoffs last year against the Celtics as they 4-1'd them.

His 3 playoff runs before that in the three seasons before that in Houston? He played in 40 playoff games and averaged 30/7/6.

Idk where this narrative that he's the problem in the playoffs comes from, but he has always shown up and produced. He's the best guard that Embiid has ever played with, and the best guard the Sixers have had since Iverson (and statistically speaking - better than Iverson).

Harden is exactly what the Sixers have been missing, a big time shot creating guard that can also facilitate and run the offense at a high level.

Didn’t he fail with OKC?
Some of his teammates said that his head was not there. He be clubbin all night. And there were other times which he disappeared. He should have made at least one nba finals appearance with the Rockets. But he gets fat and non stop clubbin. Dude is talented but his discipline is crap.

I mean with OKC you're talking about his first few years in the league, like 8+ years ago. He wasn't even a starter on that team.

I don’t remember who exactly, but I think it was either Durant or Perkins talking about Harden’s off court behavior.
