In fairness, you act like you're the GM of the Sixers with how you talk up Simmons, as if you, personally, are looking to trade him. You're very defensive about his trade value and take it personally for some reason.

Don't speak about Simmons like that, KID.

Just kidding. I just defend the talk about Simmons when people talk as if he hasn't made an All-NBA team within his first 3 seasons, or if isn't a perennial All-Star having made it the past 3 years, or All-Defensive 1st Team the past 2 years. Pretty accomplished resume for a guy within his first 4 years by 24 years old.

The issue obviously is will he play and will he be motivated? All the talent and physical tools in the world, but mentally fragile. He's Cali soft. No point in trading a player of his caliber and accomplishments at his age for peanuts, they're better off hanging onto him until a team desperately needs to move an All-Star caliber player.

Plus, let's be honest....this place would be boring without hot takes which is why i like it, not that anything i've said is a reach.

My boy is a die hard Mavs fan & ive told him the last couple years that the problem has been 2 fold.

HORRIBLE Coaching that focused on Offensive minded pieces & defense on the back burner.
Luka Doncic is NOT a leader & being an amazing player is not enough. He talks to the refs more than his own teammates.

Jason Kidd is not the solution, they need a VOISTROUS defensive anchor & should have moved on from Porzingis a LONG time ago. We will see what happens, to me, Luka will go down as a Damian Lillard, great talent, no chips.

“ Carlisle, for his part, doubted Smith could be a productive NBA starter, team sources said. He had wanted the Mavs to draft guard Donovan Mitchell, and had completely soured on Smith midway through his rookie campaign.”

Agreed, Dennis smith jr fken sucks

Care to explain how they should have gotten rid of Porzingis “a long time ago”

For starters by not getting him. I would have traded him the second year when he came back from injury and was playing decent. Butttt he gets injured again. This offseason I woulda done whatever I could to get defensive pieces around Luka.. Now they have a chance again to trade him now that he is healthy.. Making 31, 33, then 36, I think they HAVE to trade him imo.. Who knows what team wants to take a chance with him, but anything is better than this mediocracy they are putting on the court..

MOVE ON FROM PORZINGIS.

Agreed with most everything you said. I do however don’t believe there was a trade market for Porzingis post injury.
I also believe at the time the Porzingis trade made sense. It just hasn’t worked out.
They did somewhat try and get defense in Reggie Bullock but that guy sucks dick.
Just a mess all around.

This is a weird flex, you act like i'm the owner of the Sixers or something? Like you can't talk about other teams when you're a fan of one team?

I get called a homer when i talk about the Sixers, but when i talk about other teams or basketball in general it's "stfu why would you talk about another team, your team has problems too"

Weird flex. Also, having one player hold out because he's mentally fragile and can't handle the pressure of one of the best sports cities where only the tough players can survive is a bit different than the toxic work culture that was the Dallas Mavs. Everyone supports the Sixers in what they're doing, and nobody is blaming them. They've given Simmons everything to succeed, hence why everyone hates Simmons for what he's doing and supports the Sixers for holding strong and not giving in to his demands. Have you read about the things that have gone on for the Mavs internally? Just crazy shit from sexual misconduct to statements being made to players and staff lashing out....wild.

Boston is both historically and literally a better city. Both in terms of sports and in terms of any other factor you want to implement.

Can you even get clam chowder in Philly?
