this one irks me, a lot

mental health is real, you feel for her as a human being, but at the same time she's being INSANELY selfish with how she's now treating it; these games are just a non stop simone biles storyline now

if it was truly mental health concerns then announce it, bow out, and go take care of yourself, don't make it a spectacle and media frenzy

your teammates just won a silver medal and you go up on the press conference stand with them knowing every singe question is now going to be about you? fuck outta here with that

I just envision the fat sloppy guy on the couch eating fast food and drinking beer talking about "wow what a pussy" to professional athletes for decisions they make or mistakes they make in games.

Think they had a big team hug to celebrate her bravery?

eh, when she says things like "we're supposed to be out there having fun" it's like, i get it, but it's also your job that you make millions in sponsorships to do...

if i have a big presentation at work and i get nervous and fuck it up, my review is then "not ready for promotion" etc.

my job isn't always fun, but that's why it's called work. when you've chosen the profession of athletics, there's going to be times that it's not fun

most of us don't give a shit about the olympics anyway, or at least 90% of the events (fuckin lol at how serious the badminton folks are) and now this just usurps all the attention

you could see the other girls in interviews looking over at simone when they were asked a question, almost like "hey are we allowed to answer this, simone?"

they have dedicated their lives to this, won a silver medal, but all anyone is going to talk about from the tokyo olympics from now on is simone biles being a "hero"

just seems like the right thing for her to do is fade away out of the spot light and get the help she says she needs

I have a theory that she bailed BC the committee wasnt giving her proper credit for her tricks

mental health is of utmost importance so she has every right. her handling may be in question but when one feels compromised our actions tend to lend evidence

my gripe is her willingness to accept this GOAT illusion. shes got a diamond etched goat on every unitard/leotard, accessory, ig post etc you name it. its her brand.

and thats part of the problem with modern athletes, being branded and hyped by media. im not saying she aint goated (thats obvious, she's done things nobody has ever done.)
but that's quite a role to fill and can only imagine the toll it takes
